TERAMO - ITALY
DI MATTIA FIORE GENERAL SERVICE S.R.L.
Built during the '50s and' 60s, "G.Mazzini" Hospital of Teramo has a sensibly deformable load-bearing structure consisting of concrete beams and columns .ASDEA s.r.l. has dealt with the static and seismic adaptation of the Hospital, in particular of the “A” building. The intervention consists of the introduction of steel exoskeletons with dissipative bracing connected to the existing structure. The project consists in reinforcing the structure and inserting a new external steel dissipative structure. Finally the proposals include the double skin facade. It means the insertion of brise soleil for the screening of the south-west façade and of the ventilated facade for the reduction of energy consumption.
